Fall 2010 Grads
This semester, ACC Fibers graduated two seniors with wonderful shows. The first was Deb Tuggle with Windfall. Influenced by artists like India Flynt and Lenore Tawney, she installed a remarkable show and several pieces she included used sustainable, natural dyeing techniques new to many of us. Both her technical research and conceptual depth (in addition, of course, to her natural ability as a fiber artist and incredible work ethic) made her a Windgate nominee.
The second show was Kendall White. Titled In the Round, Kendall explored variations on a single theme: different sizes and colors of felted spheres. Kendall is known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and personality. In addition to her choice of material, endless repetition, and playful installation, the title of her show cleverly reveals her ability to find humor and whimsy with an austere sculptural form. (post-show update: Congrats to Kendall who sold nearly half of her show!)
